Reading 212, from The Wind in the Willows

Nothing seems really to matter, that’s the charm of it. Whether you get away, or whether you don’t; whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get anywhere at all, you’re always busy, and you never do anything in particular; and when you’ve done it there’s always something else to do, and you can do it if you like, but you’d much better not

THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS

Kenneth Grahame

My notes:

Everyone loves the Mole and the Rat. & I’m sure the Existentialists will also dig what they have to say of life. Interestingly, Grahame does not stop at showing us the uselessness of action but goes beyond it all to tell us how to find meaning…that’s what the novel is all about. Animals are just there to make us smile but beneath it all, Grahame means serious business.

Thanks for the Image!
